Conscious DisciplineGrowing Tree's 2017/2018 center wide goal was to adopt Conscious Discipline as our social emotional model. In October the staff participated in a Conscious Discipline training. CD is a way to organize our classrooms around the concept of a school family, where each member is respected and learns the skills needed to successfully manage life tasks such as handling frustration, communicating effectively, being sensitive to each others needs and getting along with others. Let us know if you observe your child handling life skills differently at home.
Fall Back - Spring Forward
Remember to turn your clocks back 1 hour on November 5th!
Our Scholastic Book Fair is a reading event that provides the books kids want to read. It's a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level.
Reading for pleasure inside and outside of school has real and long-lasting benefits. It unlocks the power of information and imagination and helps children discover who they are. Please make plans to come to our Book Fair and be involved in shaping your child's reading habits.
Remember, all purchases benefit our school. See you at the Book Fair the week of November 6th!
You're never too old,
too wacky, too wild
to pick up a book
and read to a child!

- Order forms and payments are due by November 16th.
