Welcome:
Welcome to an exciting 2023-24 school year at Growing Tree Children’s Center. I hope this newsletter finds you well and filled with anticipation for the wonderful journey that lies ahead.
Growing Tree Philosophy:
When you toured Growing Tree, you may remember our conversation regarding our philosophy: “Children learn through play.” Play is an essential part of learning. As children play, they develop the cognitive, social-emotional, and physical skills needed for future success in learning. Cognitively: They develop curiosity, problem-solving, intentionality, flexibility, and verbal and non-verbal skills. Social-emotionally: confidence, cooperation, negotiation, sharing, empathy, and how to communicate develop. Physically: their fine motor and gross motor skills are being practiced and developed. It’s not just play; play is a child’s work and the foundation for all future learning.
Picture Day:
Julia Duke Photography will take individual, sibling, and class photos at Growing Tree on September 26th and 27th. Please watch for more detailed information to come in mid-September. Pictures will only be taken for prepaid orders (except the class picture)
