April 2024 Calendar:

Parent Teacher Conferences:

Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for Friday, April 12th. Conferences can be in person or by phone. Sign-up sheets will be available on the week of April 1st via Google Docs.

Staff Training:

Our staff spent time in February on professional development. Each staff member completed at least 20 hours of training in early childhood education, renewed CPR and evaluated their paths for professional growth.

Thank you to all our volunteers who assembled bikes and scooters, cleaned the van, unboxed car seats, and took our recycling to the bottle drop! Your service is very appreciated!

MOD Pizza:

Join us for dinner at MOD Pizza on April 18th. Twenty percent of your bill goes right back to Growing Tree. Dine in and order online to qualify for the 20% donation. Fliers are available at the front desk, and I will also forward a copy via Brightwheel the week of April 15th. Thank you for supporting Growing Tree.

Summer Menus:

On April 1st, we will move to our summer menus. Menus are available to view on our website.

Sunscreen:

In April, the classrooms will start applying sunscreen twice daily: in the morning, before going outside, and after a nap. Growing Tree provides Rocky Mountain sunscreen. If you choose to use a different sunscreen, we ask that you provide it for your child. I will send out a Google Doc for you to confirm your consent to apply sunscreen.

Swimming:

The Branch and Blossoms are registered for swim lessons at Juniper pool. NOTE: DATE CHANGE

  • Swim Lessons: June 24-July 3rd. Monday – Thursday for a total of 8 lessons
  • Transportation: Growing Tree Van
  • Space is limited to 20 children.

First Friday

Growing Tree provides a parent’s night out on the First Friday of each month. This is an excellent opportunity for a date night or quiet time. The evening includes dinner, crafts, and a movie. Children should bring their pajamas. Our next First Friday is April 5, 2024. Sign up at the front desk.

Helpful Hints:

  • Growing Tree is a nonprofit organization. If you are interested in serving on our Board of Directors, please speak with Tammy.
  • All clothes from home should be labeled with your child’s name.
  • Please take your child’s nap supplies home each Friday to wash and return them on Monday.
  • Check your child’s file folder on Fridays.

Blue Bag Drive:

Blue bags are available for your recyclable bottles and cans. Each sleeve of bags earns you one volunteer hour. Please drop your full blue bags at the bottle drop located at 755 NE 2nd St, Bend, OR 97701. Thank you. To date, Growing Tree has received $2000 from your recycling.
