Happy September, Bud Families!

Welcome to the Bud classroom; we are so excited to have you!

There are three teachers in the Bud room and we would like to introduce ourselves just in case you have not had the chance to meet us…

Ms. Stephanie: I have worked in early childhood education for most of my adult life. I love watching children develop and have those many “ah ha” moments. I believe in the importance of adult/child interactions and positive guidance. I am the mother of two grown daughters and a first time grandmother. I love to create, craft, and garden.

Ms. Maci: I have been working in early childhood for almost 7 years now. I love knowing that each day is going to be different and exciting. I went to high school here in Bend and recently moved back after graduating college. I love going to concerts, spending time at the ocean and lakes, and any chance to be with my family and friends.

Ms. Gale: I have worked with children going on 24 years. I love what I do and look forward to each day. I have six grown children and three grandchildren. I enjoy working in my garden and yard work, going to the beach (Rockaway and Santa Cruz are my favorite), and spending time with family and friends.

This month we will start off the school year learning about our emotions! We will do some “I feel” emotion flip books, Gratitude activities and some silly emotion songs. Our goal is that our  Buds will learn  a few useful re-centering  tools such as breathing techniques, recognizing the causes of our emotions, and how to express how we are feeling using positive reinforcement. This will set the foundation for independence and growth that we will use throughout the year.

We will also create a family board so please  bring in a picture(s) of your family to add to the masterpiece!

Please note that this is an age of growth and independence, but learning responsibility is an ongoing process. To help us and to help your kiddos, please make sure to label every item of clothing or personal item that you bring into the classroom. This will help us make sure that everything goes back to the right places, especially with more responsibility going to the children.

Great teachers empathize with kids, respect them, and believe that each child  has something special that can be built upon”  -Ann Lieberman

All of our love, Ms Stephanie, Ms. Maci, and Ms. Gale
