Dear Sprout Families,

Well, the first month with our new Sprouts was great. They are all getting used to the schedule and are doing great with one nap. I bet they are tired at night.

In September, we explored Brushes. The Sprouts enjoyed using the little sweeper and the brushes in the dress-up area to do their art projects. We tried to do a little circle time, but they wanted to explore the room instead. Some books we could read were Don’t You Dare Brush My Hair by Lara Ede and Brush, Brush, Brush by Scholastic Books.

At art time, we used brushes to brush yarn hair and paintbrushes to paint pretty pictures. We also colored different brushes we use during the day.

They all had fun getting to know the room. Dumping our toy bins was one of their favorite things to do. By month’s end, a few were getting good at picking up things and putting them back in the bin, and some of the others not so much.

Outside time was their favorite. The sandbox and bikes were a big hit. They enjoyed filling the sand buckets and keeping the sand in the sandbox. By chance, did any of your kiddos bring home any sand:)

Here are a few highlights :

  • Blake had a great time playing outside. She would get excited when she saw her older brother at the fence.
  • Jordan enjoyed taking the little sweeper broom and brushing his friends’ hair. As he did so, he always had a big smile.
  • Violet had fun filling the shopping cart with babies. She would push them around the room, humming and babbling.
  • Cadence did a great job learning how to climb up on the play structure. She would clap when she reached the platform’s top and say, “Yeah.”
  • Grady enjoyed exploring everything in the room.
  •  He had fun standing in the play kitchen with the food and dishes.
  • Jaxon enjoyed art at the table. He would sit for the longest time if there were no distractions.
  • Wynter did a great job zooming around the playground on her bike. She smiled and waved as she rode.
  • Declan also had fun with the shopping cart. He would fill it with food and dishes and walk around the room saying “Bye.”

It was an enjoyable first month getting to know everyone. We can’t wait to see what new adventures we will have next month.

We will incorporate a 5-minute Circle time this month. Hopefully, we can include a song or two and a short book. Our home center will be filled with different clothes and costumes.

It will be a fun-filled month exploring all the clothes, and we can’t wait to start.

Reminders:

  • Family picture, please, actually, we would like two if you have two.
  • Your Sprout should always have a complete set of extra clothes in their cubby.
  • It is layering weather; light and heavy jackets are helpful

Thank you for everything. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to come talk to us. Have a great October.

Teresa, Jennifer, April and Nana Julie
