Seedling Families,

Wow, what a month! Our little ones have started doing so many new things this past month, and we are so proud of all their accomplishments. We also had so much fun making Bum-kins for our families (only one friend peed)

Miss Blanca has been helping out in our room for breaks and lunches. She has introduced the little ones to Spanish songs, which they love. She also introduced us to the Spanish names of animals. She has so many new things to teach us.

Holiday Sing A Long:

On Monday, December 9th, at 6 p.m., the Seedlings will perform in their first Annual Holiday Sing-A-Long. We have been practicing our songs daily and hope to see everyone there. We hope you can join us.

  • What: Annual Holiday Sing A long
  • When: Monday, December 9th
  • Where: UUFCO Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
  • Address: 61980 Skyline Ranch Rd,
  • Time: 5:45 performance begins at 6pm

Highlights:

  • Avery has decided she belongs with the Big Seeds now, so we have let her stay. She enjoys sitting at the table for meals and playing outside, even in the snow. Seeing her smile through the window lets us know she is happy.
  • Wesley has been pushing up to a stand and balancing for extended periods and is getting ready to take some steps. She is also improving with her finger foods and is a big pasta fan.
  • Kollins has started sampling some finger foods, and so far, string cheese is her favorite to suck on. She is also sampling a variety of purees. She is rolling and pulling forward to get where she wants to be.
  • Lonnie sits independently and starts to sample some purees. When we read together, he reaches for the books, trying to turn the pages, and enjoys feeling the different textures in the sensory books.
  • Wolf and Beckham rolled over from their backs to their bellies. They also pull themselves forward to reach toys and friends. Wolf is also sitting independently for short periods.
  • Thomas is rolling from his front to his back and is starting to roll from his back to his side to play and sleep. He is so close to rolling over.
  • Milo, Thomas, and Beckham are starting to sit with support and enjoy practicing together with a teacher reading books like Little Blue Truck and Jungle Night—just remember to make all the animal sounds. Milo has also learned to use his hands and feet to push and pull the legs of his gym to make his toys swing and is using his hands to pull the toys to his mouth.

No more snowsuits:

Our time outside has come to an end. We pray for an early Spring so we can resume our outside time. However, it can be a little chilly in our class sometimes, especially on the floor, so we ask that parents please dress their little ones in warm clothes or layers. We prefer they don’t have bulky hoods for nap time.

Books:

We already know our group loves singing songs. The Ants Go Marching is their current favorite, but they also show increasing interest in books. We already have some class favorites:

  • Brown Bear
  • Little Blue Truck
  • Very Hungry Caterpillars ABC’s

Family Board:

We would love to add your family’s picture to our Family Board.

Looking forward to you joining us at the Sing- A – Long
We hope everyone has a Wonderful Holiday Season and a Happy New Year!
Jolene, Devi, & Blanca
