Sprout 1 Families,

Thank you to everyone who attended the conferences. It was great to sit down and talk without any interruptions. If you thought of anything we didn’t discuss, please reach out.

In November, we studied Seats. Everyone enjoyed sitting in chairs, benches, bike seats, the couch, and the floor. The Sprouts especially enjoyed pulling their chairs out from the table to sit in them. They still need help scooting up to the table. We will add “scooting” our chairs into next month’s goals.

During art time, we introduced glue to the Sprouts. By the end of the month, they were experts at applying the glue. Several of them tasted it and decided it wasn’t something they enjoyed.

Our circle times continue to improve, and the Sprouts are becoming more engaging.

Books we read:

  • The Peas Say Please by Tori Hane
  • Corduroy’s Thanksgiving by Don Freeman, Llama Llama Gives Thanks by Anna Dewdney
  • There’s a Bear in My Chair by Ross Collins.

Songs we Sang:

  • (Child’s Name) is Here Today
  • Please and Thank You

Monthly Highlights:

  • Wynter enjoyed the snow. Her shoveling skills were terrific, and we loved hearing her yell, “Yeah,” as she threw each scoop into the air.
  • Jordan had fun sitting on the seats in the classroom. He would get a big smile on his face as he sat down.
  • Violet enjoyed taking the pillow, lying on the couch, and looking at books. She only rolled off a few times but got right back up.
  • Jaxon had fun sitting on the couch looking at books.
  • Declan had fun walking around the tables, making sure the chairs were all pushed in. As he pushed them in, he would sing, “Go, go.”
  • Grady enjoyed sitting or lying on the bench outside. He would make lots of noise as he sat, and we are sure he was telling us he liked the bench.
  • Blake did a great job using her manners. Almost every time we ate at the table, she said, ” Please and thank you.”
  • Cadence also did a great job using her please and thank you. If she didn’t say them, she would sign them.

In December we study Paper

 Sprouts will develop:

  • Language skills to describe different types of paper
  • Social skills as they use paper to create art
  • Fine motor skills as they tear paper
