Sprout 2 Families,
January was fun! It was surprisingly warm, and our study was “ICE COLD.” Despite the lack of snow and ice outside, we made the most of what we had. We created sensory snow bags and ice buckets and painted with ice chips. The Sprouts had an absolute wintry blast with each activity planned.
January Sproutlights:
Alice is all about making crowns for her friends. She gathers her friends into a circle and places the crowns atop their heads. She feels elated when she is recognized for how helpful and kind she is.
Brody loves to make us all laugh. Every child in our class is gleaming when Brody is here! He has such a huge heart and can strongly empathize with others.
Bode has incredible memorization skills. At circle time, we read The Snowman with over 35 peek-a-boo flaps inside. Before Ms. April opens the flap, Bode shouts out what each one is!! Good memory, Bode Bear!
June has been working on potty training this month. She has shown resilience in her independence and the ability to listen to her body. We couldn’t be more proud of you, June!
Mary enjoys being outside. She is the first one dressed in her snowsuit, complete with boots, hat, and mittens, waiting for the door to open.
Norah ended up creating two projects!
Owen was thrilled over the ice buckets! He smiled from ear to ear when he squeezed the water out of the syringe and watched the ice melt.
Savannah found the magna tiles this month. She enjoyed placing them on the windows and feeling the cold windows on her fingertips. She would say BRRRR!
Van, AKA DJ “Vango Rango,” kept us busy with his greatest hits, HOT TO GO, Wheels on the Bus, and ABC’S!
Here’s to Healthy:
January was a challenging month with all the sickness going around. We’re incredibly grateful to all our families for helping us minimize the spread as much as possible. We truly believe it takes a village.
Looking Ahead:
“Me, Myself, and I” is the title of our February study. We will focus on the most important people, OURSELVES! We are each unique, different, and the same. Labeling, emotions, body parts, and unique characteristics will all be explored
Books:
- The Feel Good Book
- I Love All of Me
Songs:
- If You’re Happy and You Know It
- Head Shoulders Knee and Toes
Be safe outside and have a fantastic month!
Ms. Kelcy and Ms. Yesenia, and Ms. April!
