Dear Bud Families,
The Buds had a bountiful harvest season this past month! We talked about the foods we eat and experimented with them. During snack time, we had a mini “Buds-Giving” with our stone soup and applesauce. The Buds worked together to add the ingredients and enjoyed tasting the food they worked hard to make!
The Buds loved seeing their corn on the cob and carrots made of paper hung throughout the classroom. The Buds helped peel apples, which we cooked to make delicious applesauce! We also made the Bud version of “Stone Soup.” Our friends enjoyed it during snack time and talked about the different vegetables and foods and where they came from!
Our fine motor skills were tested when we painted stones, beaded with pipe cleaners, and created a class chain to display our art!
The Buds have been preparing for our Growing Tree Holiday Sing-A-Long. The kiddos are excited about performing a few songs for their families! We are excited to see you all on December 9th.
In December, we will start our “BOX” Study! The Buds will play with and examine all kinds of boxes and learn their many uses. We will provide different-sized boxes to help the Buds develop excellent building skills, both socially and physically. By discussing the many different ways boxes can be used, we hope to inspire imagination and bring out their flexible thinking.
Quick reminders:
- Winter gear will be stored in each child’s cubby. We prefer that their winter clothes stay at school during the week. This way, they are always prepared for the climate of the day. Please take the clothes home on Friday if you need them, but bring them back on Monday. Labels are our best friend! The Buds are practicing their independence, and with that comes mix-ups with personal items. We can quickly return items to the correct family if the item is labeled.
Holiday Closures:
- December 24: closing at 3 pm
- December 25th and 26th: Growing Tree is closed
- January 1st Growing Tree is closed
It was so great to connect during conferences! We appreciate your support and working together to ensure your child continues to thrive in our care. It truly takes a village, and we are so grateful we got to be part of yours!
Happy holidays to you and your family!
Kindly,
Ms. Stephanie, Ms. Maci, & Ms. Gale
